Severe Period Pain Is Not Normal (SPPINN)

This course is designed to help you to identify when period pain is not normal, to understand the impact of severe period pain, and learn about associated conditions.

Just over half the population can expect to have periods during their lifetimes. Many people suffer from severe period pain which can have a significant impact on their life. This course is designed to help you identify when period pain is not normal, understand the impact of severe period pain, and learn about associated conditions, particularly endometriosis. Endometriosis can be difficult to diagnose because symptoms are often misidentified as ‘normal’ period pain.

Throughout the course content we refer to girls and young women and young people to be inclusive of everyone having periods or period pain.
