Dr Bethan Rowbottom
Bethan Rowbottom is the Social Research Manager at Human Fertility and Embryology Authority. After working in project management in the private industry she retrained for a career in the fertility sector, completing an MSc in Reproductive Science. She has held roles in a UK fertility clinic and in the policy team at the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA). Her experience working in these roles developed her passion for patient-centred care and led her to engage in research that she hopes will contribute to better support patients. Her PhD focussed on the development of MyJourney to support those who have an unfulfilled wish for children, whether through infertility or circumstance. She presents her work at academic conferences and engages in public engagement activities to raise awareness of the emotional impact of having an unfulfilled wish for children.
